Volunteer with Girls On The Run

We rely on volunteers to assist with many different aspects of our organization. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved at a variety of different times and in many different ways. Please take a look at our opportunities to determine what works best for your schedule. We look forward to using your time and talents to help inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident!

Coach

Coaching a Girls on the Run program is the most rewarding way to get involved. Volunteer Coaches serve as role models and mentors for the girls who participate in our program. At each program location, 2-4 coaches deliver the GOTR curriculum, twice a week for an hour and 15 min to groups of up to 20 girls. Coaches are not required to be runners; they simply must be passionate about the mission of Girls on the Run, committed to working with a group of girls throughout the season and able to bring energy and joy to each practice. More information on coach requirements can be found at  http://www.gotrshreveport.org/get-involved/coach

5K Committee

Our end-of-season celebratory 5K event is held twice a year in the spring and fall. It requires months of advanced planning and preparation, and our dedicated committee of volunteers makes this joyous event possible. The 5K Committee meets approximately 2x per season and is expected to also volunteer on Race Day. This is a great way to become involved with Girls on the Run and to be a part of the most exciting event of the season. To become involved with our 5K Committee, email our Executive Director, Beth Ann Menger bethann.menger@girlsontherun.org
