Donate your time to help give
girls a brighter future.
Thanks for your interest in volunteering at our Fall 2017 Girls on the Run 5K! As girls from across our area come together to achieve their goals on 5K day, they will be depending on volunteers like you to help them shine!
See below for volunteer descriptions and times. When you're ready with your volunteer selection, fill out our volunteer form below. Looking forward to seeing you on Race Day!
Early Volunteer Check-in 6:30am - 8:00am: Help us check in our volunteers as they arrive, with a smile and warm cup of coffee.
Equipment & Vendor Set-Up 6:30am - 8:00am: Rise and shine! We need help setting up tables, refreshments, and helping our vendors get situated. This may require some heavy lifting, but we promise you'll be working as a team.
Course Set-Up & Decorations 7:00am - 8:45am: Our course needs to be GOTR-ized from start to finish. We'll need your help marking the course, writing inspirational words in chalk along the way, and helping decorate our finish line.
Happy Hair Station 7:30am - 9:00am: We have fabulous stylists who will make our girls' hair shine, but they'll need a little help to keep things happy and organized since their hands will be full.
Happy Shirt Station 7:30am-9:00am: We want our girls to feel extra special with lots of 'Happy'. Help girls tie their shirts with ribbon and other decorations.
Inspiration Station 7:30am - 9:00am: What is a race without motivational signs held by our loved ones along the way? Help spectators create GOTR-ific signs, and amplify the GOTR spirit of positivity.
Face Painting & Spirit Station 7:30am - 9:00am: Show us your inner artist! We'll need a few volunteers to help paint the faces of our girls and put on colorful temporary GOTR tattoos to show their team spirit!
TuTu FUN Station 7:30-9:00: Help our girls make a colorful TuTu to wear along the course! She may win a prize for her creativity. The Best TuTu will win!
Volunteer Photographer for "Selfie" Station 7:30am - 9:00am: Say "cheese!" and help us document all of the "selfies" once our girls and participants have had their hair "happied," faces painted, and motivation signs written.
Information Station + Volunteer Check-in 7:00am - 10:30am: This is your chance to show everyone how much of a GOTR expert you really are! We need volunteers to help answer questions about Race Day and GOTR as well as check in remaining volunteers.
Water Stop Attendant 8:30am - 10:30am: Runners and walkers will need to stay hydrated and you'll be their favorite sight along our 3.1 mile course. You will need to be at the 5K by 9am to make sure water stops are set up and ready for race time!
Cheer Station Attendant 8:30am - 10:30am: This is an important job! You'll be posted at a key location along the course and your job will be solely to cheer our runners on during the 5K. This is a great volunteer option for large groups.
First Aid Station 8:00am - 10:30am: Accidents happen, and we'll need volunteers to make sure all of our participants have assistance if they need it.
Finish Line Refreshments 9:00am - 10:30am: Water, fruit, and some snacks are the perfect post-race fuel. Help us distribute these items to our finishers.
Finish Line Medals 9:00am - 10:30am: You'll make the day memorable for each participant when they receive their medal (GOTR program participants only) or finisher's ribbon (all non-GOTR program participants).
Equipment Break-Down and Clean-Up 10:30am - 11:30pm: Let's leave A.C. Steere Park as neat and clean as we found it. We'll need lots of volunteers to help us break-down and clean up.
